1902     Reindeer Lake Pike with Doc
Reindeer Lake is a great pike fishery. it is opne of Bob's favorite locations to chase big northerbn pike in the 50-inch class. Docd Bill Engber joins Bob for early June pike in this northern Saskatchewan lake at
Lindbergh's Reindeer Lake Lodge. Early cold front condition predict the lures needed to attract these big beauties. Strike King has just the right Soft plastic combined with the Hildebrandt Jigzilla for good big fish action. The Phantom Softail jerk bait proves very productive also. 1903     Wiley Point Muskies with "The Coach"
Pete Olson of Wisconsin has become a very good muskie fishing partner with Bob. The always have a great time together regardless of location or conditions. Maybe it is because Coach is such a good instructor! As if Bob needed instructions on finding big muskies. Bob has 95 muskies caught and released over that 50-inch benchmark. Others make that claim, but when computing the stats they are stating they catch on the average, over 8 50-inchers consuistantly each year.Let's get real! However,

1904     North Star Resort Giant Pike
This episode brings us to the wilderness of northern manitoba to

1906      Birch Island Muskies with Charles and Kris
Birch Island Resort is situated on the Winnipeg River system, which drains Lake of the Woods. It is located at Minaki, just north of Kenora, Ontario. This five-lake system offers walleye, smallmouth, and big pike, but our crew is here for the muskie action. With the 54 inch legal size, the muskie resource has some huge fish to offer the experienced angler. Charles Fitzgerald is the sales manager for Poe’s Lures. The Poe’s Giant Jackpot has proved very effective for trophy muskie, and now Poe’s is releasing the new Havana Jack Pot to suit the biggest of fish. The Havana is an oversized version of the Jackpot that moves a lot of water and can be worked with most rods; even with the trendy longer rods of today. Kris Soderman is a guide with Birch Island. Kris has won many muskie tournaments in the area. He knows the waters well, and my money would be well spent to be guided by Kris. 1907     Cedar Lake Lodge Smallies with Paul
Bob’s good friend Paul Bobel loves to fish in Canada. When he was offered the chance he said, "great!" Paul met up with Bob at Cedar Lake Lodge in NW Ontario by Perrault Falls. Jeff Shore joins Bob and Stork Lake Lodge owner, Jody Stephens, in the quest of some trophy muskies; really big fish. Stork Lake in NW Ontario is known for big fish. The only thing Jody enjoys more than running his lodge on Stork Lake is fishing the muskies of Stork. 1910     Stork Lake Muskies, Part 2 with Jeff and Jody
Jeff, Jody, and Bob continue their hunt for trophy muskie at Stork Lake in NW Ontario and must find the right lure combinations. With three in the boat a multiple lure presentation can be very advantageous. The new Poe’s Havana Jack Pot begins to prove itself as a big fish lure. The amount of water it moves is incredible. The Stork Lake muskies seem to take a liking to this oversize surface meal.

1913     Brazil Peacocks with Vinnie
Join Bob and Vince Segafredo in Brazil aboard the Yanna Yacht as they travel the Rio Negro River, a tributary in the Amazon River basin. If you are looking for record peacock bass this is your destination! Peacocks are like 26 pound smallmouth on steroids! 1801         Century Lodge Smallies with Dale

Bob's guest this week is Dale Richardson from Minnesota. Dale loves bass fishing; he even makes Mojo Rods for his pursuit of big bass. Dale has not  fished Canadian Smallmouth and he finds the smallies of Century Lodge the  challenge he is seeking on Osbourne Bay of Eagle Lake, NW Ontario. 1802        Witch Bay Smallmouth with Ed
Witch Bay Camp on Lake of the Woods is located just north of Sioux Narrows on the east side of the Lake. They have a private drive right to the camp. Ed  Colfer, Bob's long time friend takes a break from his duties at Epson America,  and joins Bob for a couple of days of early season Smallmouth action. Strike King's  Spit-N-King top water lures and Centipede 3x plastics do the job.

1803        Cedar Lake Smallmouth with Wes

Wes Haney loves fishing bass. Wes fishes numerous tournaments in  Minnesota and Wisconsin each year. This year he decided to spend an early  season stay with Bob at Cedar Lake Lodge out of Perrault Falls in NW Ontario.  Cedar Lake Lodge offers smallmouth, walleye, pike, and muskie. This trip is  dedicated to smallmouth fishing. The muskies will have to wait.

1807        Witch Bay Muskies with the King and Tom
The "Coach" is Pete Olson of Wisconsin. Coach really was a king coach, and now  that he is retired he can chase his second dream - muskies. He fishes in  northern Wisconsin, but he won't miss a chance to fish with Bob at Witch Bay  Camp on the east central side of Lake of the Woods.

Wiley Point Lodge is right in the center of Lake of the Woods, and one of Bob's  favorite muskie haunts. 1809        Midnight Sun Alaskan Pike with Greg
When Alaskan fishing comes up, few people are aware of the great pike fishing  that Alaska offers. Northern Pike over 50-inches in length are caught and  released by the Midnight Sun Trophy Pike Adventures; thanks to the  knowledge of operator, Greg Befus. Bob and Greg have a great time as these  two pike diehards fish these giants of Alaska. Sunny Fenton is no stranger to big muskies. She has 5 muskies over 50  inches to her credit already. Yellowbird Lodge is on the east side of Lake of the  Woods and offers great structure with a mix of island, points, and reefs to fish  along with very comfortable accommodations. For this mid summer period, the  water is cooler than normal at 71 degrees. But the Giant Jackpot proves its  reputation, as Sunny and Bob boat Jackpot muskies.

1813        Cedar Lake Lodge Muskies
Cedar Lake Lodge, an extraordinary, remote, wilderness, drive-toi lodge in NW  Ontario, is located on a beautiful island. Bob has often chased smallmouth   bass here, and decided to return for the legendary the muskies. Bob is looking for his 94th muskie over 50 inches. A good place to reach that  goal is Stork Lake Lodge in NW Ontario. Lodge owner Jody Stephens is an educator as well as an avid muskie angler. 1701   Gunisao Giant Walleyes with Dusty

Bob heads north to Gunisao Lake Lodge a fly-in camp in Manitoba, Canada where Walleyes are King. Lake Gunisao is the home of giant walleyes and good pike fishing. Dusty Budd, the camp host, joins Bob on the water for some spirited competition for the largest walleye. The Poe's Cruise Minnow crank bait proves very effect on these early-season May walleyes.

 

1702   Century Muskies with Holli

Holli has grown up in the Ontario fishing camp lifestyle at Century Lodge in NW Ontario. Tyran's Century Lodge is located on a secluded island in the middle of Osborne Bay of Eagle Lake. Even though they see each other as Bob visits each year, it has been years since Holli and Bob shared the boat together. Join them as they chase the queen of fresh water, the muskie. The Poe's Giant Jackpot is an awesome topwater lure for muskies, and proves to be effective.

 

1703   Smallies of Witch Bay with Wes

Witch Bay Camp on scenic Lake of the Woods in NW Ontario is the setting for some early season Smallmouth action. Tournament angler, Wes Haney, joins Bob as they search new areas for smallmouth bass. One way to catch early season smallies is with a jig and tube in the rocks. The Lindy Craw Toob and VooDoo Flathead tubes work well for smallmouth bass. In these cool early season waters there is a bonus fish you often catch, and you will just have to see the size of this trophy walleye.

 

1704        Lake Vermilion Muskies with Ted

Ted Takasaki, President of Lindy Fishing Tackle, chases the muskies of Lake Vermilion in Northern Minnesota with Bob. The M&G Muskie Tandem has been a very productive spinnerbait for muskies over the years, and Lindy brought it back into the market two years ago. Now Ted has brought a new design with him, the Buck-a-Boo made with bucktail hair and marabou feathers. New designs need to be tested for ability to catch fish. Just looking good is not enough. It's Father's Day week. What could be more fitting than our host, Bob, spending the week with his son, Jason, fishing giant northern pike in northern Saskatchewan at Lindbergh's Reindeer Lake Lodge? The only way to reach Reindeer Lake is by plane. But this fly-in resort has all the amenities to make your stay comfortable. Darwin, a long time experienced guide at Lindbergh's brings Bob and Jason to shallow, sandy bays that warm quickly in the early season. The Manta lure seems to be the ticket for triggering northern pike. Many times Jason and Bob have doubles on with pike in the mid to upper 40 inch class. 1706    Stork Lake Muskies with Sam & Jody, Part 1

Stork Lake Lodge owner, Jody Stephens and his daughter, Samantha, board Bob's boat for some top water muskie fishing action at their resort in northwest Ontario. Sammie has never caught a muskie. The Poe's Giant Jackpot is easy to work for beginners because it floats and you see the lure as you work your rod - not to mention that it is extremely productive. Let's see who out fishes whom in this good time on the water. Sammie does get to use the Lindy Fish Handler Glove for holding her 1st muskie for a quick photo session before releasing it. In this continuation from part 1, we see that Sam, Jody, and Bob have all caught fish. But while Bob and Jody are busy releasing a muskie, Sammie just keeps on fishing. 1708    Wiley Point Muskies with Tim

Tim McCully joins Bob for a week of muskie fishing on Lake of the Woods in northwest Ontario, Canada. Bob has been fishing muskies for many years around Wiley Point Lodge, which is situated in the middle of some of the best muskie waters on the planet. They catch quite a few smaller muskies, but it proves to be a difficult week for the big girls. On the last day Bob's Anglers Edge fish activity predictor says to be on the water early. Three lures prove to do the magic - Optimum Baits Ambitious Buzz, the Poe's Giant Jackpot, and the Lindy M&G Muskie Tandem. 1709    Century Smallmouth with Tom

Tom Seward is a lure designer for Worden's Lures. He designed the Timber Tiger crank bait among others in the Worden's, Poe's and Yakima families of lures. Tom gets to experience Timber Tiger fishing catching ability in early cold front conditions at Century Lodge. It is early season, the weather has turned cold, and the wind in blowing. While Tom and Bob expected to fish topwater and crank baits in warmer conditions, they now have to adapt. Tom shows how to entice fish with a shallow and slow crank bait action.  Bob demonstrates the effectiveness of the VooDoo tube. Learn where the fish position themselves on rocky reefs, and see how that changes as the Anglers Edge predicts a rising barometer and increased fish activity.

 

1710        Witch Bay Muskies with the Coach

Pete Olson is a long time friend of our host Bob. Pete is called Coach because he was a high school basketball coach for many years. Pete loves muskie fishing. This is his first trip to Witch Bay Camp on Lake of the Woods in Ontario, Canada. In the first 30 minutes of fishing, they raise 5 muskies and Pete catches a small muskie to break the ice. As time progresses it is obvious that the muskies are chasing Giant Jackpot and M&G Muskie Tandem lures. Bob and Pete are having a fantastic time together. The action has been good so they decide to stay into the evening hours. It seems the biggest girls come out to eat at that time.

 

1711        Brazil Peacock Bass with Jeff, Part 1

Bob and his good friend Jeff Rozinka travel to South America. The fly into Manaus, Brazil and then board the river Yacht, the Yanna, which is a traveling houseboat/hotel complete with bass fishing boats. They travel up the Rio Negro River in search of record size Peacock Bass. They use muskie size tackle for these fast, hard charging, maniacs of the Amazon. The first peacock bass in the boat weighs 5.5 kilos.  As the clouds form overhead the bigger fish tend to come up. They now catch a peacock bass at 32 inches in length with over 21 inches in girth. 1712        Brazil Peacock Bass with Jeff, Part 2

In part 2, Bob and Jeff continue their adventure on the Rio Negro of the Amazon valley in search of record size peacock bass. The Luhr-Jensen Woodchopper, a topwater, prop bait that you rip across the water seems to work the best. Peacocks slash at the Woodchopper 2-3 times until they get it. Then the trick is to get them to the boat before they can reach the timber. Bob gets a big peacock that gets hung up in the stumps. Just as guide Joseph begins to enter the water, it breaks loose and they land a 34-inch fish weighing 10 kilos. Even trophy fish are released after pictures, as Artistic Anglers will make graphite reproduction mounts of the fish with the measurements and good photographs. After Jeff lands a 34.5 inch peacock with a 20-inch girth he has just two words to describe the experience- "the greatest". Bob uses just one word - "incredible". 1713        Northern Minnesota Large Mouth Bass

Host, Bob Mehsikomer, got his start in fishing with bass and bass tournaments. The competitive natural of tournaments adds to the excitement of large mouth bass angling. This week, Bob is joined by his sons, Mike and Jason, along with their friend, Eric Ahlstrom. They divide into two teams as they fish the heavy weed cover of a typical Minnesota river channel. Jigs tipped with Strike King 3x Chunks in colors of black, blue, and pumpkin allow them to probe the slop. On hook up, it is important to keep the fish coming your direction as quickly as possible and derrick them onto the deck of the boat without allowing them to hit their head, which can harm them. Day one produces no clear winning team. We will see if either team can pull away in this friendly bass competition among family and friends.

In this 3-part series, 160 of the world’s best muskie anglers compete in a 5-day elimination event in the world’s richest muskie tournament in fishing history with over $200,000 in cash prizes. The elimination continues as the field gets reduced to only the top 10 teams that earn the right to fish the final day for over $80,000 in cash as 1st place purse. Team point standings start over at zero at every elimination cut, so strategies are very important. You must be able to catch fish after each cut in order to advance. You can’t burn all your fish to qualify, but you must catch each to advance. The tension in the air is dramatic and peaks at the closing moments. The winning team goes wild at the awards ceremony.

Bob joins Randy Tyran of Century lodge on Osbourne Bay of Eagle Lake, Ontario. Randy has grown up in this lodge and he fished with Bob years previously. Matt Thompson, long time muskie angler and educator, joins Bob on Ontario’s Lake of the Woods. They arrive at a favorite resort, Witch Bay Camp to a great dinner and comfortable quarters, so they are ready for action. This is a show you will have to see. Matt can really cut it up, and keeps Bob laughing while thinking. But they get into so many muskies we had to make a two part show in order to show you all the action. Jody Stephens is an avid muskie angler, and he is in a perfect place a lodge on Stork Lake in NW Ontario, Canada, outside of Ear Falls. Bob and Jody chase the big girls in the waters of Stork Lake. Anyone interested in fishing giant pike will want to see this show. Midnight Sun Trophy Pike Adventures offers anglers one of Alaska’s best keep secrets, giant northern pike. Imagine fishing for $80,000 cash, for 5 consecutive days, in an elimination muskie tournament. In September 2004
that’s what 80 two-man teams did on Lake Vermilion. The teams fishing for three days in order to make the cut, as

only the top 20 teams proceeded to the 4th day. Then comes a further elimination – only the top 10 teams get to proceed to day 5 – the final day and the big cash prize.
